"Delicious recipes from the jaw-droppingly modern cafe that has just beached in
Littlehampton"
Sunday Telegraph Magazine
Our spectacular building, designed by Thomas Heatherwick, sits right on the beach in Littlehampton, West Sussex. East Beach Cafe serves delicious food every day, all year round and is open for lunch, dinner and weekend breakfasts. We have 60 seats inside, all with a great view of the sea, and 80 seats on decking outside for our take-away kiosk for those who prefer to eat on the beach.
"Jane Wood and her daughter Sophie...have done something miraculous in raising
this incredible Heatherwick building, and it's even more inspiring to find their
commitment and passion running through the restaurant operation, right down to
the smallest details...it is very, very clever"
Tracey Macleod, Independent
Magazine
The food is simple seaside food, some English classics with a few of the best things from beach holidays abroad. Items on our menu include potted shrimp, fresh locally caught fish, smoked trout salad with pickles and horseradish, the East Beach Burger, salt and pepper squid with chilli, crab linguine, fish pie, fig and chestnut trifle and English apple crumble with custard.
We are committed to sourcing fish from sustainable sources, and do not serve cod, haddock or plaice. We source our produce locally wherever possible, and make the best of what each season has to offer changing our menus monthly. We also have great daily fish specials to make the most of what the day boats bring in.
Our thanks for some of the pictures on the site to Gavin Jackson/arcaid.co.uk
